Tennyson – Leaves

This video began in two places: first, with macro photography test shots of light coming through leaves in a glass bowl and second, at Goodwill. “Pick out an outfit and let’s see where this goes.” With Luke in the ill-fitting suit things quickly became clear: the film would be about a tension between introverted agoraphobia juxtaposed against an internal space of liberation, freedom, and self-care. The found locations of the demolition wreckage and snow machines told the story on their own. We only had one chance to film the reverse shot as the suit would be destroyed, so after multiple rehearsals Luke descended into the tub and I did my best to rack focus without an AC. I think it came out ok!
